Over Half of Verizon Wireless Mobile Data Traffic Now on its LTE Network

Verizon Wireless has revealed that 57 of the mobile data traffic carried across its network is now being delivered over its LTE network. The announcement was made in a brief comment on the company blog.

Verizon Wireless has expanded coverage since it launched its 4G LTE network in December 2010, and the network now covers 500 markets in 49 states.

The company officially launches LTE services in Alaska next month.

Verizon Wireless’ LTE network is available to more than 99 percent of its 3G footprint and to more than 95 percent of the entire U.S. population.
